This Vietnamese perilla has smaller leaves and a stronger, aromatic flavor than Japanese perilla. The topside of the leaf is deep green and the underside deep red-purple. Often also grown as an ornamental accent in the garden. Traditionally cooked with seafood. Leave will change color from green to purple after some time.
