Subwassertang (Lomariopsis sp.) is a unique and versatile freshwater plant that resembles delicate, translucent green fronds. Despite its moss-like appearance, it is actually a type of liverwort, making it an interesting addition to aquariums and shrimp tanks.
This slow-growing plant thrives in low to moderate lighting and does not require CO₂ supplementation, making it ideal for beginner and low-tech setups. Subwassertang can be attached to driftwood, rocks, or left floating freely, providing excellent shelter for small fish, shrimp, and fry. It also helps improve water quality by absorbing excess nutrients and offering biofilm for shrimp to graze on.
With its soft, flowing structure and ease of care, Subwassertang is a fantastic choice for aquascapers looking to add a natural, lush touch to their tanks.
