Asparagus densiflorus 'Sprengeri', commonly known as Sprenger's asparagus fern, emerald fern, or simply asparagus fern, is a popular ornamental plant. It belongs to the lily family, and while it's called a fern, it's not a true fern but has fern-like foliage. Here's more information:

1. Appearance: This plant is known for its arching, cascading branches covered in needle-like, feathery, bright green leaves, which are technically modified stems called cladodes. These give the plant a dense, fern-like, fluffy appearance.

2. Flowers and Fruits: The Sprengeri produces small, inconspicuous white or pale pink flowers, typically in the summer. These are often followed by red or deep purple berries. While these berries add to the ornamental appeal of the plant, they are toxic to humans and pets if ingested.

3. Size and Growth: This is a fast-growing plant that can reach around 2-3 feet in height with a spread of 3-4 feet. Its sprawling growth habit makes it an excellent choice for hanging baskets or as a ground cover.

4. Cultivation: Asparagus densiflorus 'Sprengeri' is quite hardy and can grow in a wide range of conditions. It prefers well-drained soil and can grow in full sun to partial shade. Indoors, it does well in bright, indirect light. The plant is drought-tolerant once established.

5. Use: This plant is often used in hanging baskets, containers, or as a ground cover in landscapes. It can also make an attractive houseplant.

6. Maintenance: Pruning helps control the size and encourages bushier growth. As with many fast-growing plants, Asparagus densiflorus 'Sprengeri' can become invasive in some regions, so care should be taken when planting it outdoors.

7. Climate: It's a tropical plant and can't tolerate frost. In cooler climates, it's typically grown as a houseplant or an annual.
