In nature, there are up to 300 species of agave, and the culture uses American varieties of this plant. This flower has gray-green or bluish-green fleshy leaves. In some varieties, they are decorated with yellow or white stripes. Like most succulents, the stem of the agave is short, undeveloped, so practically not visible.
Agave plant grows in natural conditions to huge sizes-4-5 m in diameter. At home, the size of its much less dwarf types can grow up to 3-4 cm This plant species belongs to the long-lived and can live for 50-100 years.
In their natural habitat from the agave plant in the flowering period (usually this occurs at 15-20 years of age) appears peduncle 3-10 Multiple m (15 000 pieces) flowers yellowish it collected small brushes in the inflorescence. After the agave ceases to bloom, it produces fruits, and the plant itself dies, leaving young sprouts budding from the rhizomes. At home, agave blooms very rarely.
