OTHER: The Chocolate Cherry Sunflower will delight you with its huge 6 – 8” flowers with petals of a deep cherry red & centers the color of dark rich chocolate. Sunflowers are easy to grow from seed, & can be a lot of fun to plant with kids because they grow so quickly, it might just hold their interest. Lol. Plant them in the back of the garden, as a border, or in containers that will be heavy enough to outweigh the flowers without tipping over.
Chocolate Cherry makes an excellent cut flower, not just because of its long vase life, but also because their blooms are pollen free, making them a dream for allergy sufferers. Be sure to leave a few flowers in the garden to go to seed though too … You can collect the seeds to start new plants the next season, or simply let them fall to the ground & replant themselves.
